Challenges Of A College Student

Look at yourself from above, and remember your ideal life as a college student when you were in high school: is this your ideal life? , Life is better now? , did you accomplish all the goals you set on back there? I think that most of the people would answer those questions negatively. Why? Because when we were teenagers we thought that college would be the most exciting experience that we were going to live. Despite being a college student involves many things as: do things for your own, grow up, control your impulses and work hard to accomplish your goals.

One benefit of growing up is that you receive more freedom to do and express yourself, this is why in college you can be yourself, wearing what you want, as jeans , shirts, heels, whatever, nobody is going to tell you or not what to wear, in fact you are supposed to be an adult and know how to make decisions. It was a little for me difficult at the begging because I wasn’t used to it, but now it’s just like wearing uniforms. what helped me more in the university was my personality, furthermore I stick to my ideas and I don’t let people tell me what to do or what to think about things, I’m always my myself.

On freshman year of industrial engineering, I started taking subjects about my career, and also meeting my professors, finally what I was waiting!; all was well until I meet Tamy del Villar, a technical drawing professor, she was so mean to everyone that she even broke a drawing that we were doing it for a week, that’s why at the end of the semester there was only one student left, and it wasn’t me. In contradiction to school teachers, professors can make your life miserable.

When you are in college you are getting ready for real life, you got to know who you trust and who you don’t, indeed, friends can help you to go forward or set you back on your goals. For me, I think I was graced, because on college I made more and sincere friendships than when I was in high school, however not everyone has that opportunity. Some of my best friends had deal with some fake friends that only want to see them fail, that’s why in college you have to know who your friends are and take care of them.

Over the years, you realize that those experiences that you’ve been through, had helped you to become an adult, and realize that life isn’t as we might picture it, I think we make our way and our destiny, that’s why in college you have to learn about your career but most important than all is learning about life.
