Specific  theme

Uso:

Oraciones afirmativas:

• Los verbos regulares en el pasado terminan en  -ed.

Walk ………walked

Play ………. Played

Joe walked home last night.

We played basketball yesterday.

• Los verbos que terminan en –e sólo necesitan –d.

Live ……….lived

Argue…….argued

Helen lived in Medellin three years ago.

Tom argued with her classmate.

• En los verbos que terminan en consonante  +y, cambie la y a una i.

Carry……….carried

Try …………. Tried

Mary carried her notebooks at the library.

Peter tried the exercises again.

• En los verbos que tienen una sola sílaba, se le duplica la última consonante.

Stop ……….stopped

Beg ………..begged

They stopped and listened to the radio.

He begged me to work together.

Nota: El tiempo pasado simple con frecuencia  se utiliza con los adverbios.
