Conditional Type 0

It is used to express facts or universal truths.
We use it when we talk about things that are generally or always true.

Example:

If you heat water to 100°C, it boils.

If I study hard for the exam, I pass.

Note: Remember that for the third person of the singular (he, she or it) in the simple present form, you must add an “s” at the end of the verb.

Exercise: Complete the blanks with the correct form of the verb.

Conditional Type 1

It is used for situations that may be real or possible. In the main clause you can use WILL or a modal verb;  such as MIGHT, CAN, or SHOULD.

If it rains today, I will stay at home.

If you are sick, you should see a doctor.

Module 2 Past Habit vs. Present Habit

USE

BE USED TO

Used expresses that an activity was a past habit; it was occurring at an earlier stage of life but not now. It focuses on the past habit, not duration or frequency. (used + infinitive) It is a lexical verb limited to past tense.

Be used to expresses something that you are accustomed to; are familiar with and accept as normal.  The verbal expression is followed by a gerund.
