Lovely Miami Essay

LOVELY MIAMI

My name is Cristina and I´m going to tell you about my lovely vacations I spent in Miami. It was back in February of 2010; spring break was happening. The weather was absolutely perfect, it wasn’t too cold or too hot; you could feel a very nice and fresh wind blowing in your face. I actually feel very related to that description about “spring break”, I´m right in the middle and as easygoing as the wind at that season.

The first night I spent there, I met with my very good friend Andrea. I have known her since I was 14 years old, at high school. We were classmates and we became really good friends. She´s a great person, a really good friend, because she is actually a really good listener, which is a quality that is hard to find these days, plus she is as easygoing as I am, so we feel pretty much the same about the things that we both like.

Andrea and I have something in common, we love electronic music. This kind of music is different from other kinds of music out there. It takes you to another world, makes you feel happy and in love even if you are not feeling that way. This kind of music is powerful, makes you feel alive.

For that reason we decided to go to a music festival called “Ultra Music Festival”. Is an electronic music festival that occurs in spring break in Miami. A lot of dj´s are invited to play their amazing music, the music that Andrea and I love so much.

We were really excited about it; we were sure it was going to be amazing, we were about to have a blast. We got to the festival around 9pm; it was really crowded, and tons of young people were in there, excited for the same reason as Andrea and I were.

“Swedish House Mafia”, our favorite Dj´s, is a Swedish electronic dance music trio, they started the show playing their amazing music and made a reappearance at 12pm sharp. We couldn’t believe we were starting a new day with them playing their awesome music.

We were happy for another reason as well. It was because right next to us there were two gorgeous guys, both with green eyes, really tall and tanned gold skin, just the type we are into. They were Steve and Ryan, 22 years old both, back then we were 18 so it was perfect.

We were enjoying the music, dancing, jumping, singing, it was really great. At the end of the concert, at 3am, the fireworks began to cover the sky already filled with stars, with our favorite song “Miami to Ibiza”, playing in the background, holding hands with our summer lovers Steve and Ryan.

After all of that we went to the beach to hang out a little bit more with the guys, finally at sunrise begin, Ryan kissed me, and Steve kissed Andrea, it was the perfect picture. All of this made the beginning of my trip to Miami great and lovely, couldn´t be more excited for the next days to come.

The next day we woke up around 2pm, it was very late. We were absolutely exhausted because of the music festival. We really danced and jumped a lot. It was lunch time so we needed some food, but first we checked our phones and the guys wrote us inviting us to eat something and spend de rest of the day with them. They said they had a surprise for us.

We got into the shower and started to get ready because they were going to pick us up at the apartment. We were really excited, these guys had us head over hills for them. They arrived around 3.30pm with flowers for us. These guys were unbelievable.

Ryan was driving, we were singing while we were going to find something to eat. But first Steve told Ryan to make a first stop to the beach, he didn’t give any kind of explanation and Ryan didn’t ask a question.

We got to the beach and what Andrea and I saw made our jaws felt to the floor. There was an helicopter waiting for us. We were about to have lunch and got a full view of the city by taking a Miami helicopter tour. We were so happy. It was the first time that we got up on a helicopter.

Getting a helicopter tour was absolutely the most popular thing back then so we had talk about it, definitely we never thought it was going to happen but with Ryan and Steve taking us. We saw the beautiful beach with that emerald green water, our eyes couldn’t believe it.

I am going to tell you a little bit about the food that we were having. I consider myself a food lover. I love food, especially when it has my favorite ingredients. Those will be shrimp and avocado. Believe it or not, shrimp was on the table and without any irony I definitely felt in heaven, specifically food heaven.

We were laughing, flirting, eating delicious food, and some delicious Piña Colada (virgin because we were 18 back then). I never felt so happy and so alive in my life, it was a feeling that I didn’t want to let go. We got to see the beautiful sunset up in the air. I can surely say that was something amazing, we literally saw the sun “hiding” like saying goodbye from us, it was beautiful.

Our helicopter tour had come to an end. We were a little bit sad because we had so much fun up there; it was like coming back to reality. Gladly it was not our true reality; we just went back to our spring break vacation history. That it was turning into a fairy tale.

We went to the beach and walked for a little while, in that way we could get to know each other better. I found out that for Ryan it was the first time on a helicopter so that was something that really caught my eye. Ryan was really cute with me and very respectful, I was not looking for a husband or anything but he definitely made me feel really special.

For the next days my friend Andrea and I went for some shopping; we were dying to buy new shoes and dresses; we were going to have a party at Ryan´s place. I needed to find a beautiful dress for that party. I wanted to look gorgeous for him.

I found a beautiful dress. It was my dream party dress, it had a perfect cleavage, and opening in the back, proper length, and it was in my favorite color, turquoise. Andrea really liked it, so having her approval I went for it and bought it. I was really happy because I knew Ryan would like it.

The day finally came and we took about four hours to get ready. It was pretty obvious that these guys had us crazy for them. Definitely that concert was the best thing that could happen to us. We met these cute guys and were having a blast.

We were ready for Ryan´s party. We took a few pictures before we left making funny faces and all of that kind of stuff; we had a lot of fun. While we were going Ryan called me, he asked me to wait for him outside before entering his house, he didn’t say why so I did that when I got there.
