Experiment on the size of a population at a certain area using the random sampling technique

Table showing the area in which we measured the number of flowers and the amount of times the experiment was done in relationship to the size of the population value

Data Analysis

Through our data we are able to see that the number of Grass flowers in each quadrant, can vary in a range from 0-25. Our data was collected in a 15x15 meter area, were we would throw a 10m2 quadrant, randomly through the area we  had chosen, and we would then count t

he amount of organisms that were inside the quadrant. For the experiment we chose the grass flowers, we repeated the experiment 30 times and then, from the number of Grass flowers in each quadrant we were able to get the mean, and from the mean and the area we were able to look for the size of the population. The size of population equation is the following:

(plants per m2) x (Surface Area m2)= Population size. Through the table we are able to see the relationship between the number of organisms in a certain area, which gives us the size of the population.

Conclusion

The size of a population is the quantity of individuals in a population. It impacts the chances of an species surviving or going extinct. For the most part, small populations are at a most serious danger of extinction. However the size populations may be less essential than its density. Many components can influence the populace size in a certain territory. The birth rate versus the death rate, if the birth rate increases there will be an increment in the population, while if there is an increase in the death rate there will be a decrease in the population size, another variable that can make an effect could be can be migration and immigration. These four factors basically take place because of the different variables, which can be restricting; food, space, weather, nutrients available and the amount of sunlight. Despite the fact that a factor can be limiting for one unique species doesn't mean it can have an impact in an alternate sort of species. “Population sizes do not change when the rate that individuals are lost from a population is equal to the rate that individuals are added to the population (dynamic equilibrium)” (Thompson, 2013) dynamic equilibrium is one of the variables that is produced when there is the same number of death and birth rates, demonstrating to us that the population size isn't affected by it.
