The eventual replacement of humans by robots is a very delicate question. The industrial revolution made a lot of changes on the economy. Two hundred years ago, 70 percent of American workers lived on farms. Today automation has eliminated all but 1 percent of their jobs, replacing them with machines. In the future this type of job elimination could lead to income inequality and a breakdown in social order.

The rapid evolution of robots has caused great concern in the labor market. The robots already had replaced humans in many activities that go from disarming bombs and landmines until the inspection of submarine telephone cables, through special exploration among others. In the UK, Deloitte and the University of Oxford predicted that 10 million unskilled jobs could be taken over by robots. According to some researchers from University of Oxford Carl Benedikt Frey and Michael Osborne, 47 percent of all U.S. jobs could be automated and taken over by computers. This technological advance could cause a lot of changes in the labor market and some of these changes may cause harm to the human race [1].

Foxconn has replaced a lot of workers with thousands of robots nicknamed “Foxbots”. The price of this robots is between $20.000 and $25.000 each, but they can do the work much faster. However this means that the company will avoid hiring human worker and a lot of families could be impaired. [1][2]

Technological progress also has created new opportunities for human employment, at an even a faster rate, but the replacement of workers with intelligent machines, powered by sophisticated code, is booming in the portion of the economy where computers transact business only with other computers.  Computer to computer transactions have created a new generation of billionaires. In fact this kind of business will probably drive much of the economic growth in the coming decades. But only a small portion of the population will benefit and they will have too much power to make important decisions in the world and when the power is concentrate the rest of the population is repressed.

It is impossible to deny that technology has helped people and in some cases we are totally dependent on robots, but we need to create some limits. When the replacements of humans by robots begins to affect human life we need stop and make some changes in our plans. Robots are stronger and don't need to stop work to eat or rest like us, but humans have some abilities that robots will never steal like the ability to think, to feel, to learn and to teach. Then we must think of a way to continue evolving without harming the lives of human beings then that way we can enjoy only the positive side of robots.
