The Shield of the state of Guanajuato, which originally belonged to the city

same name, was created by King Felipe V who then was the one who gave him the title

of "Very Noble and Royal City of Santa Fe and Real de Minas of Guanajuato". And till

it has now been perfected over the years.

Shield composition is as follows: It rests on a ledge which represents

be colored marble with gold ornaments. Is held on the base shell

two laurel branches are linked by a blue ribbon. The shell that links the

shield symbolizes the stability of the home, widening its borders. Background with a

siginficated  field gold nobility, magnanimity and purity of feelings, yet,

wealth of precious metals found in the state. The auction is

symbol of greatness. The laurels are the symbol of victory and the acanthus

loyalty; in the center it bears the image of Santa Fe in Granada, symbolizing

Triumph of the Catholic Kings over the Muslims.
