Essay

This essay is about the book “The Space Invaders” written by Geoffrey Matthews. This book was new to me, never before I had read it. The book's title gave me the idea that it was a book of adventure and science fiction. Those were my expectations at the beginning.

The first chapters tell the story of a character named Varon who traveled to the planet Zeron to steal a precious crystal and then return to Earth like a millionaire person. However his plan did not work as expected and was discovered by the guardians of the planet Zeron, who pursued him in order to kill him. He was mysteriously demure by a robot named Omega who took him to his spaceship. In the spaceship was a man and a woman who had fled the Earth because the police were looking for, they killed the owner of the spaceship and managed to Omega did the things they asked him. But Omega could not to kill humans.

The thieves had intended to kill Varon but did not because Varon told them he had a crystal that could make them millionaires. This aroused the ambition of thieves and planned to return to the planet Zeron to steal two more crystals; although Omega warned them that if they returned they awaited death.

Omega became free thanks to the power of the crystal, now did not receive orders from anyone, but pretended to do it just to see the attitudes of the "three thieves", he heard plans Garth and Miranda, who intended to kill Varon once you've stolen Crystal. But the greed of the two took to kill each other while trying to steal the crystal. Varon was unconscious and Omega decided to take him back to the spacecraft.

In my opinion the greed of thieves led to his own death, the message is that ambition can lead us astray. We must not covet what we can not have; we try to get by us only themselves and the most honest way possible.
