Today I'm gonna talk about Finland's secrets to be the happiest country in the world

Finns have been known for decades for having one of the best lifestyles, which has led them to be voted the happiest country in the world four years in a row from 2018 to the present 2021, leading the ranking of the World Happiness Report. Finnish happiness is not superficial and immediately visible, but rather is rooted in your being. Sustainable happiness is their superpower and it means they take life as it is presented to them, a trait that helps them get through tough times.

But what is the secret? Finnish happiness can be attributed to several factors, one of them, and the most popular among the inhabitants of this country is the connection with nature and their outdoor activities since they are fortunate that more than 90% of their territory is covered with forests or water reserves.

Some secrets on how Finns lead a fuller life and maximize their happiness hormones:

1. They reconnect with mother nature: 75% of the Finnish territory is covered with forests, so nature plays an important role in the lifestyle of its inhabitants. During the summer, Finland is perfect for swimming, hiking, cycling and camping. While in winter, they can try cross-country skiing.

2. They look for food to lift their spirits: In summer and autumn, Finland is the perfect place to explore the forests and nearby waters in search of fresh foods, such as berries, mushrooms, wild herbs and vegetables, and fishing is a popular activity throughout the year.

3. They harness the healing powers of water: Finland is the country of 188,000 beautiful lakes. Some of the fascinating activities are exploring lakes by steamboat or from shore on horseback. In addition, the Finnish national pastime is to soak in ice cold water after a sauna, which would serve to strengthen the body and recharge it with energy.

4. The serotonins in the sauna: Finland has 3 million saunas, being a cultural ritual for thousands of years. The sauna is a highly valued Finnish way of life that brings together and connects friends and family. Finns trust the benefits of saunas for the mind and their effect as a stimulant of happiness.

With that said, Finns love to escape from busy cities and surround themselves with nature to relax, perhaps we should all try to imitate them and lead a happier life.

Thank u.
