Purpose Statement: To inform my audience about stress and the effects on our life.
Thesis Statement: Stress leads to many deadly diseases that can affect your everyday life, I am going to inform you on the leading causes of stress and how it can be relieved.
Introduction
Attention Getter: Do you know that everyone is affected by stress on a day-to-day basis!
Overview of Main Points: The effects of stress on your family, work and your health.
Transition: Now that I have expressed my main points on Stress and your health, lets me give you some facts about the effects on family life.
I. According to www.family-stress-relief-guide.com, Stress impacts those close around you the most, especially your family.
A. Financial instability is one the main reasons why marriages fall apart.
1. This affects children’s learning and development causing additional stress to parenting.
2. This can especially take a toll on the head of the household and can lead to feelings of depression and failure.
Transition: Know that I discussed some of the family related stressors let me continue with facts on how Stress will affect your job performance.
II. Work is a major part of everyone’s life, stress at work can affect family life and stress at home can affect work.
- It is very important to learn to go into work without outside stresses and the proper attitude.
1. Going to work with a clear and sound mind will help you overlook some of the daily stressors otherwise it can affect your productivity and causing you to make unwanted mistakes that can potentially lead to job loss.
2. Any major problems at work can affect all aspects of life as we know it, it can change someone’s life completely around, can cause such issues like financial instability, self-
esteem issues and problems with spouse or family.
3. Roughly 30% of workers surveyed reported “extreme” stress levels, stress-related distraction or sleepiness account for 60 to 80% of on the job accidents.
4. An estimated one million workers miss work each day due to stress-related ailments, costing companies an estimated $602 per employee per year. This information derives from the document Stress in the workplace, meeting the challenge, published on Healthadvocate.com website.
Transition: Now that we have seen the how costly it is to have stress in the workplace, both monetary and worker safety let’s move on to the health effects this causes.
III. Your mental and physical health is one of the first things that stress impacts.
A. Stress is linked to the six leading causes of death; heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, accidents, cirrhosis of the liver, and suicide.
1. 43 percent of all adults suffer adverse health effects from stress and 75 to 90 percent of doctors visits stem from stress related ailments
2. Your health is very important to maintain, if you are not healthy everything around becomes a challenge, work, relationships, even just getting out of bed.

Conclusion:
·As illustrated by the points stress affects all aspects of our life and most of the time one stressor in our life will cause us to have stress in another aspect of our life so it is kind of a domino effect with stress.
