Resumen Dreamland

Exposition:

Caitlin is a typical high school teen-ager. Everything in her life seems to be going wrong. Her sister Cassandra disappears. This was a very uncommon event because Cass was the nice well-behaved sister. Without her at home everything seems to be going so wrong. Caitilin had always envied Cass. She envied everything, her name, how she was always so happy, how good she was at soccer. When Cass disappeared Caitilin was expecting her to call the next day laughing, but that didn’t happen for a very long time. Caitilin didn´t actually knew how much she needed Cass until she was gone. After Cass was gone, her parents where too preoccupied about Cass they took all their attention away from Caitilin. Cass was also an academic recognized student, she was supposed to be attending yale a couple of days before she disappeared. In between this family conflict She notices Rogerson Biscoe, someone so attractive that took her breath away. He was the usual bad boy all girls fall for, mysterious.

Rising Action:

Rogerson was a drug dealer, which obviously would bring more problems to her life tan she already had. Although, with him she felt so good. She hadn’t felt that for anybody in her whole life time, she thought was wasn´t going to be able to fall in love sometime, but with him, she forgot all her problems. She starts dating him. She goes to his house and when his father came in she hides in the closet. His dad was so mad and started beating him, she heard everything. She was so sad to see that but when she came out Rogerson was kind of tough. At first, he was the most adorable boyfriend, he wouldn’t get mad, he wouldn’t fight etc. After some time he starts to get mad about Caitilin going out with her friends. Then, he starts to get mad about the cloth Cailin used. Caitlin was a Virgin, Rogerson obviously wasen´t. She starterd to feel kind of dependent from him, after all she disn´t had any other one in her life; her sister was gone, their parents didn´t pay her attention, she didn´t talked to her friends anymore, she only had him, everything was wrong.

Climax:

Rogerson starts consumieng drugs with his friends and introduces Caitilin to them. When he was in that mood he started beating him. At first she got really mad , but then she rememberd how his dad had beated him and felt soryy for him, after all she loved him with all her hert. The first times he would returm the next day crying asking her for forgivness. And she would, then he would beat her again and again. Their parents once noticed she had all her faced full of bruises. She told them she had fell. She told Rogerson about it and he started beating him in places no one could ever see. Caitilin was getting used to Rogerson Beating, she didn´t even saw that like something bad, she thought Rogerson did that because he loved her.

While all this was happening she was also preoccupied because of Cassandra. Months had pass and they didn´t now where she was.

Caitlin loses her virginity to Rogerson wich made her more attached to him. She was afraid to leave him. Even though, she knows everything’s wrong. She starts spending time with Corinna ( a friend Rogerson had introduced) she was her partner in smoking pot. She had runned away from her house like Cass did.

Falling Action:

One day Caitlin´s friend, Rina convinces Caitlin to go out with her. She calls Rogerson so he wouldn´t get mad, but it didn’t worked. He was furious. When Caitlin gets home, Roger beated her. He beated her so hard like he had never before, she could actually could have been killed. The neighbor notices and calls the police. Rogerson gets arrested. Caitlin was very sad, and her parents felt bad with themselves. They couldn’t believe they had never notice what Caitlin was going through. With one daughter missing, and the other one suffering and on drugs they where so frustrated.
