Resumen

Introduction

In this summary of the text "The Myth of the Cave" whose author is Platon in which he talks about the perception of the observer and how it can vary according to the same observer. In addition, the questions asked by the author in the text itself will be answered, which are:

- Don’t you think he will find himself in a hurry, and that what he saw before will appear truer than what he is now shown?

/Of course, since his reality is different and he is already used to that reality.

- Will not he look away from her to direct her to those shadows that he looks without effort?

/It’s possible because you want to stick to what you already know and do not want to change your mind.

- Don’t you think that these shadows are really more visible than the objects that teach them?

/Everything depends on the observer since it takes so long in the cave I would think so.

El mito de la caverna cuenta la historia de unos prisioneros los cuales siempre han vivido en una cueva y siempre han estado atados a una pared que da la espalda a una fogata y a la entrada de la misma cueva, por encima de esta pared pasa la sombra de ciertos objetos y animales que pasan por detrás de ella.

Los prisioneros solo conocen la forma de los objetos y animales, pero no conocen que son o que hace parte de ellos, ellos suponen que son, se hacen ideas vagas y predicciones de cuál será la próxima sombra en aparecer.

Después de un tiempo dejan salir de la cueva a uno de los prisioneros, este se da cuenta de que no soporta la luz del día y que todo lo que él creía no era así después de unos días se acostumbro a la luz del sol y descubrió otras cosas muy diferentes a las que el pensaba cuando estaba en la cueva, luego de esto lo devuelven a la cueva, en la cual le es difícil volver a acostumbrarse a la luz que hay dentro de la misma. Él les relata a los otros prisioneros lo que vivió fuera de la caverna y les explicó la “realidad” de las cosas y los objetos y animales que pasaban como sombras frente a ellos, pero ellos no le hicieron caso y dijeron que haber salido de la cueva lo había vuelto ciego y hacía que delirara, él les creyó a sus compañeros prisioneros y se apego de nuevo a la “realidad” de la cueva, aunque ya había visto la verdad afuera de esta.
