A New Country

Individual, imagine you could create a completely new country made up of the best things from at least two other countries.

What would it be called? Fernis

What would this country be like? Write down your ideas.

Think about:

  • the climate: This country has two different climates: Mediterranean on the coast and continental in the central and northern regions. In coastal areas, summers are dry and winters are mild.

  • the food: Characterized by its variety, fruit of a regional diversity, both cultural and raw materials, as well as its refinement, Fernandes cuisine is considered a world reference. Its influence is felt mainly in the kitchens of the western world that have been incorporating Fernandeces technical knowledge into their bases. In the northwest: butter, cream, apple, fish, seafood, and cider. In the southwest: the duck, the birds, the mushrooms, the Cognac and the red wines. In the southeast: olive oil, olives, Provence herbs, tomatoes, Mediterranean vegetables, fish and rosé wines. In the north: potato, pork, beans and beer. In the east: pork, foie gras, cold meats and sausages, potatoes, cabbages, beer and white wine. In the center: pork and beef, cold meats and sausages, potatoes, mushrooms and red wine.
  • the culture: It is recognized for its art, its culture and its numerous monuments, including the Tower of Pisa and the Roman Colosseum; as well as for its gastronomy, its wine, its lifestyle, its painting, its design, cinema, theater, literature and music, in particular, the opera. All this has created a considerable fever in the world.
  • the people: It is a country of enormous cultural wealth, with great historical, artistic and architectural bastions. But all this is just a reflection of its people, since they are noble and warm people who know how to enjoy the good things in life, who enjoy both a relaxed atmosphere and colorful festivals and who have strong beliefs and values.
  • the scenery: Ferni has a green heart. There are 24 National Parks equivalent to 5% of the national territory that tourists and local people can discover and enjoy respecting the enormous biodiversity they protect.

Within protected areas, nature and its life cycles are protected, conserved and bequeathed from generation to generation through environmental education activities, initiatives and events that take place during the course of the year.

From the high peaks of the Gran Sasso to the green shores of Circeo, the protected areas are the ideal place for lovers of nature, outdoor activities and sports. Visiting the parks means launching an exceptional cultural adventure made up of ancient burghers, towers, castles, churches, traditions, gastronomy and local crafts.

The extraordinary biodiversity and the peculiar characteristics of each one of the known protected areas allow to live unique and unforgettable experiences in all the seasons of the year.

  • the standard of living: it is above average in income and wealth, housing, health status, civic commitment, life-work balance and personal security. It is below average in satisfaction, environmental quality, sense of community, education and skills, and employment and remuneration. These results are based on a selection of available data.
  • the natural resources: The country is one of the world's leading producers of iron ore and coal. In addition, it has remarkable deposits of antimony, bauxite, magnesium, pyrite, tungsten, salt, potassium, radioactive materials, lead and zinc. The production of natural gas, oil and sulfur is in full development. On the other hand, it has large areas of fertile soils; among them, the richest are those formed by the marine sediments in the Paris basin and the well-drained alluvial soils of the lower valleys of the Seine and Somme rivers.
  • the capital: Considered one of the best tourist destinations in the world Macarons, the capital of Fernis, is also one of the most beautiful cities that exist. Declared in 1991 by Unesco as "World Heritage" everything in it is magical, place of art and culture without equal, with wide avenues and large spaces that are dedicated to diverse exhibitions and everything that can provide recreation for those they visit it.
  • the political system: It is a parliamentary republic with representative and multiparty democracy, whose political system is defined in its supreme law of 1948 the executive power is in charge of the Government, formed by three organs: the President of the Council of Ministers, who is the head of Government, informally called "Prime Minister", the Ministers and the Council of Ministers. The legislative power is in charge of the Parliament, which has a bicameral structure, being formed by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature. The President of the Republic is the head of state and represents national unity.
  • anything else? Ferni is the most popular tourist destination in the entire world. There are many reasons why many people enjoy visiting the country, such as natural beauty, wonderful weather, outdoor recreational activities, such as golf courses, museums, art galleries and much more.
