Solar Energy

Photovoltaic were initially, and still are, used to power small and medium-sized applications, from the calculator powered by a single solar cell to off-grid homes powered by a photovoltaic array. They are an important and relatively inexpensive source of electrical energy where grid power is inconvenient, unreasonably expensive to connect, or simply unavailable. However, as the cost of solar electricity is falling, solar power is also increasingly being used even in grid-connected situations as a way to feed low-carbon energy into the grid.

As light hits the solar panels, the solar radiation is converted into direct current electricity (DC). The direct current flows from the panels and is converted into alternating current (AC) used by local electric utilities. Finally, the electricity travels through transformers, and the voltage is boosted for delivery onto the transmission lines so local electric utilities can distribute the electricity to homes and businesses.

Solar energy is energy is radiant light and heat from the sun harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies such as solar heating, solar photovoltaic, solar thermal energy, solar architecture and artificial photosynthesis. It will benefit Honduras, if we implement it as the major source of energy in our country because; solar energy is the most found resource in earth. It is only found at day, but we can use batteries that can get charge so when night comes we will have a sustain source of energy. It is inexpensive and does not pollute earth. Honduras as country in process of development, need a source of energy that will produce enough energy sustain all its people needs. Sunlight that reaches Honduras is enough to be used as a source to create electricity to support Honduras needs. We this source of energy will not pollute the environment using those fossil fuel which are too expensive and pollutes our country, and some of the forests of Honduras are consider a lung for America because is located near the most industrialized country which is United States.

Solar energy can also be alternative to our country we need to start to save money for the future. We just spend, spend, and spend in fossil fuels. We are boosting other countries´ economies while we destroy ours, we have to be solidary but, the countries that help us are not the one that sells oil, coal, and natural gas to us. We have to start to think in us we have to make a call to the government to stop spending money in unnecessary fuels. Solar energy is found everywhere in Honduras. Hydroelectric power can also be but, it has disadvantages that we should not accept. It harms aquatic habitats, and stops some species from breeding. Imagine that we will lose our fishes. And will we are paying the costs of the construction of the dam will be high elevated. This type of source of energy which is solar power is the most adequate to our relative location because we are near the equator and we receive a sustainable rate of solar energy. This source of energy has one defect, it is only available in a sunny day, but when this happen we can use other alternative. This source of energy is so pure that it does not harm nor pollutes our beautiful environment which God gave us; we will not damage the animals’ habitats or its sources of food. We have to make conciseness our planet is not forever experts says that after 2020 the damage will be irreversible and our planet will be destroyed before we realized what actually happened. But our type of people, I clarify am not insulting, is that type that tries to imitate other cultures and that is why we do not value our fortunes that Honduras give to us every day.

Our world, especially our country needs other way to produce electricity. There is when solar power enters! In my personal opinion we can develop devices that can get charge for a long period time, for example in winter sun energy is scarce and with this special devices developed will be so easy to store energy for our daily life.
