Our vision is to be the first choice of the world’s travelers. Hilton intends to build on the rich heritage and strength of our brands by:

  • Continuously improving performance
  • Increasing shareholder value
  • Creating a culture of pride
  • Strengthening the loyalty of our constituents.

  • Delineates management’s aspirations for the business

The vision of the Hilton Hotels is clear, and it shows what they want to their corporation, they provide all of this information through the vision.

  • Provides a panoramic view of “where we are going”

The vision at the beginning describes what they pretend to the future, and also what they going to do to get the goals.

  • Charts a strategic path

I consider that they know what they going to do, the vision shows clearly the many forms that they pretend to go to the place that they want and also they have a plan.

  • Is distinctive and specific to a particular organization

The vision of the Hilton Hotels is very general and common. Many hotels have a very similar vision, so this is not just for them.

  • Captures the emotions of employees and steers them in a common direction

In this case I think that the vision is not very motivator, but maybe it captures a little bit of the emotions of the employees, because it mention them but not like employees the vision called the constituents, it wat to show that they are important part of the function of the corporation.

  • Is challenging and a bit beyond a company’s immediate reach

The vision shows a real challenge, because it wants to be better in all the parts of the corporation, it wants to function like a system, the shareholders, the employees and the customers.

Characteristics of an Effectively Worded Strategic Vision

  • Graphic

The vision creates a clear image of the corporation that they want to be, so I consider that is graphic.

  • Directional

The vision it’s obviously directional, it compile all the parts of the corporation and also it mention the investigation and it means that they are going to be prepare to the future.

  • Focused

The vision contains many points of action, so the manager can take decisions based on the vision; it is a guide for the correct management of the company.

  • Flexible

The vision is flexible, because it can fit also in future is versatile and also it is clear so it can be useful regardless the changes.

  • Feasible

The goals that the vision shows are realistic so I think that is feasible to get them on time.

  • Desirable

The vision includes all the parts of the company, it is focus in shareholders, employees and also the customers and it represents a benefit for all of them.
