LOS ADJETIVOS SUPERLATIVOS
Un adjetivo superlativo es lo que usamos para expresar que algo o alguien es quien más sobresale en algún aspecto. Es el equivalente a adjetivos en español como divertidísimo o el más delgado. Para construirlos, se debe agregar la terminación "-est" al final del adjetivo y anteponer el artículo the.
Nombre (sujeto) + verbo + the + adjetivo en grado superlativo + nombre (objeto).
EJEMPLOS
Funny / divertido – the funniest / el más divertido
He is the funniest guy of my group.
Él es el chico más gracioso de mi grupo.
Cold / frío - the coldest / el mas frio
That room is the coldest room in the whole house.
Esa habitación es la más fría de toda la casa.
REGLAS
1. Si una palabra termina con una consonante seguida por "-y", cambiamos la "-y" por "-i" y luego agregamos "- est".
Angry / enojado – the angriest
Cloudy / nublado – the cloudiest
2. Si el adjetivo termina con consonante-vocal-consonante, y el acento va en la última sílaba, doblamos la última consonante y después agregamos la terminación "-est". Por ejemplo:
Hot / caliente – the hottest
Sad / triste – the saddest
3. Añadimos "most" a palabras largas, es decir, si la palabra es de más de dos sílabas y no termina con "-y".
Expensive / costoso – the most expensive [pic 2]
Beautiful / bello – the most beautiful
