Santa Ana.
Santa Ana is the second largest city in El Salvador, located 64 kilometers northwest of San Salvador, the capital city. Santa Ana has approximately 274,830 (2006) inhabitants and serves both as the capital of the department of Santa Ana and as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name. For its administration the municipality is divided into 35 neighborhoods and 318 small villages.
Santa Ana, which is the second city in importance in El Salvador, has become a very popular tourist destination, especially for tourists eager to learn about Salvadoran culture and traditions.

The city has a public hospital called: National Hospital San Juan de Dios, with 10 health units, with four nursing homes and a rural center of Nutrition (CRN), which are administered by the Ministry of Salud.79 92
The population has its own seat of the Salvadoran Social Security Institute (ISSS), which is the government agency responsible for social security salvadoreños.93
The town has branches of international health agencies and rescue, such as Roja94 Cross and Civil Protection. In addition the city has foundations and associations, such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Health Project Auditiva.79 95
There are also several non-governmental hospitals (such as Medical Center, Climesa, Cader, etc.) and with a lot of clinics, private clinics and pharmacies.
Transport.
It has numerous paved roads, such as the Pan American Highway where there walking automobiles, motorcycles, pick up, vans and buses through the city of Santa Ana by communicating with the city of San Salvador and the road that goes from the city of Santa Ana to Candelaria de la Frontera and the Republic of Guatemala of this is apparent which leads to Resume.
In rural areas there are some people who use carts, bicycles or just prefer to walk.
There is also a modern highway that connects San Salvador with the city of Santa Ana, another important route is one that is between Sonsonate and Metapan.
Food.
Santa Ana's traditional kitchen always reflects the customs of the old towns, conserving, like in tradition, maize as the main element. Santa Ana's typical food is a delicious mixture of the indigenous traditional food and combined with the Spanish.

Geography.
The city of Santa Ana is located on a meseta about 665 meters above sea level. The city has year-round warm climate with an average temperature of around 25 °C. The main river is the Guajoyo river which is a major tributary of the much larger Lempa River. There is a major Hydroelectric Power station at the Guajoyo River that provides electricity to most of the western sector of the country.
The city is situated among many beautiful green hills such as Tecana hill and Hills of Santa Lucia, among others. In the southern part of the municipality is the Ilamatepec volcano, the highest volcano in the country, which had a moderate eruption in 2005 that killed two people. Close to it is another famous volcano, Izalco, known to sailors throughout the mid-19th century and early 20th century as "The lighthouse of the Pacific" due to its constant eruptions.
Life Style.
