Millones de personas se involucran de forma activa (como parte de la comunidad deportiva) o pasiva (con su presencia como espectadores) en el fútbol. Con el paso de los años, su pasión ha trascendido los estadios y sus distintas formas de acompañar y apoyar a sus respectivos equipos no solo tienen como escenario las tribunas; sino también, las calles, los barrios de precedencia de los hinchas y otros espacios públicos. Uno de los tipos de grupos de fanáticos más recurrentes son las denominadas “barras bravas”, las cuales se caracterizan por la violencia exhibida en sus actos cuando buscan afirmar, ante la sociedad y sus rivales, que un territorio les pertenece y resuelven la pugna con sus propias manos, agrediendo y originando peleas. El interés por el tema nace de la observación del comportamiento, respetuoso y de reconocimiento del logro ajeno, del público en los estadios de fútbol en Europa, específicamente en los partidos que se desarrollan en La Liga Santander. Esto motivó la atención del autor por tratar de entender por qué es que ese comportamiento no es generalizado y en el contexto local se manifiesta de una manera distinta. Pareciera que la sociedad limeña se ha acostumbrado a estos actos y prefiere evitar cualquier tipo de acercamiento al tema, pero no debe ser así porque la pasión futbolística no se debe asociar directamente con violencia. ¿Acaso es posible lograrlo? Sí, lo es. He aquí la importancia de esta investigación. Para encontrar una solución se debe evaluar la situación y comprenderla, y así cambiar la perspectiva que la sociedad tiene. Por ello, en el siguiente trabajo se abordará el comportamiento violento de estas barras de fútbol y su relación con el daño físico y la sensación de inseguridad que producen al apropiarse de los espacios públicos en Lima Metropolitana. Es necesario, para esto, demostrar cómo la territorialidad, en su sentido antrópico, identidad y rivalidad generan y “legitiman” el actuar, por mencionar una de las barras más violentas, de la “Trinchera Norte”, barra representativa de Universitario de Deportes desde 2000 hasta 2019.

Millions of people are actively (as part of the sports community) or passively (with their presence as spectators) involved in soccer. Over the years, their passion has transcended the stadiums and their different ways of accompanying and supporting their respective teams are exhibited not only in the stands, but also in the streets, fans' neighborhoods and other public spaces. One of the most recurrent types of fan groups are the so-called "barras bravas" (or “hooligans”, in English), which are characterized by the violence showed in their acts when they seek to affirm, before society and their rivals, that a territory belongs to them and resolve the struggle with their own hands, attacking and causing fights. The interest in the subject is born from the observation of the behavior, respectful and recognition of the achievement of others, of the public in football stadiums in Europe, specifically in the matches that take place in the Santander League. This motivated the author’s attention for trying to understand why this behavior is not generalized and is manifested in a different way in the local context. It seems that Lima society has become accustomed to these acts and prefers to avoid any kind of approach to the subject, but it should not be so because passion for soccer should not be directly associated with violence. Is it possible to achieve it? Yes, it is. Here is the importance of this investigation. To find a solution, the situation must be evaluated and understood, and thus change the perspective that society has. For this reason, the following work will examine the violent behavior of these soccer fans and their relationship with the physical damage and the feeling of insecurity they produce when they appropriate public spaces in Metropolitan Lima. For this, it is necessary to demonstrate how territoriality, in its anthropic sense, identity and rivalry generate and "legitimize" the acting of the "Trinchera Norte", representative fan group of the University of Sports from 2000 to 2019.
