  1. Introduction

This psychological report will show a complete analysis of the behaviours and possibly actions of the patient who is Stanley Kowalski, this report its based on the book A street car named desire, that book is the most important source because its where all happened, its where Stanley Kowalski have different situations with women (Stella and Blanche), also this report will have the analysis of tow articles about the violence against women, those articles will help in a good way because this kind of articles have important situations and examples and they could help to write a good psychological analysis of the character Stanley Kowalski.

  1. Background

Stanley Kowalski is a character with strong personality, he is a man who always want to feel the power wherever he is, and we can analyze this when in the book a streetcar named desire he said “What do you two think you are? A pair of queens? Remember what Huey Long said— “Every man is a king!” and I am the king around here, so don’t forget it” – page 131. This quotation shows the ideology of him because he thinks he always will be the man with the power, no matter where. On the other hand, something very important is the roots of Stanley and in the book he said “I am not a Polack. People from Poland are Poles, not Polacks. But what I am is a hundred percent American, born and raised in the greatest country on the earth and proud as hell of it, don’t ever call me a Polack” –page 134. That show what he thinks about where he is, everybody know his last name show a direct relation with Poland, but for Stanley its like bad because he is very proud of the country where he lives and the country where he grew up. And he turns so mad if anyone say he is a Polack. Stanley is in a marriage with Stella, they live in New Orleans in a humble floor, he worked in a plant, in the book he said “we were in the same outfit together-tow-forty-first Engineers. We work in the same plant and now in the same bowling team.”—page125, this quotation also reveals something about Stanley and that is he like and have a bowling team, so bowling for Stanley Kowalski is a passion.

  1. Predictors of violence
  1. Predictors of violence from the article “intimate enemies”

This article is very important for this case because show a direct relation with the character Stanley Kowalski and also have the explanations for his behaviours and why he does part of the acts, this article explain when in a relationship they have problems how possibly the man will be act and how he will react to the problems, the article talk about different situations of the real life where the woman is battered or violated by the man in the relation, the article said “the first time a woman is hit, she is a victim and the second time, she is a volunteer” so this have relation with Stanley because he act against Stella but she just try to show nothing happens, but she know if he turn mad or angry she is under danger, because he can do anything, also in this article they try to explain why the man do that, and that have a lot of possibilities because every man is different and maybe have different reasons but for example in the article said “ his childhood, his insecurities, his shaky identity, his addiction to control” so this it’s a important part because Stanley have serious problem with his addiction to control and with his shaky identity.[pic 3]
