Parma Machines with GE Fanuc 0iPC Control

Software Reloading Procedures

Introduction

This procedure is for the reloading of Strippit Software items into the GE Fanuc 0iPC Control. If this is a complete reload of the software package then follow each of these steps in order. If only one item of software package is being reloaded then follow the directions of that step. Read the directions for each step to verify that you have the information recorded from the Control that will be lost during software reload. Verify the “Data Listing” sheets for this machine have the latest changes recorded.

Memory Card (PCMCIA Card)

The Memory Card Slot is located on the left side of the LCD Display Panel. The “Memory Card” supplied with the machine contains all the information as to how the machine was shipped from the factory. Also supplied with the machine is a CD Rom that will contain a copy of this information.

Device Setup

There is only one setting for device for the loading of the Strippit Software items, Memory Card.

CNC Parameter 20 = 4 for Memory Card. (Also on Setting Page, ISO = 1)

 

Note: If control was setup for RS-232 input then also check the Baud parameter; see the “Data Listing Sheets” for this information. (CNC Parameter 20 = 0 for RS-232)

To change Device Setting to “Memory Card” for loading of the Strippit Software:

1) Turn on the Control and set "Parameter Write Enable" parameter to ONE.

        Press function key for "OFFSET SETTING" on the keypad of the MDI panel.

        Press soft key [SETING] for chapter selection, on the Display screen.

        Enter "1" (Enable) in response to the prompt for parameter write (PWE).

           Alarm P/S 100 "PARAMETER WRITE ENABLE" appears.

        Press “RESET” on the MDI Panel to clear this Alarm.

2) Turn off “Memory Protect” Key on the Operator Panel.

3) Check or Change CNC Parameter 20.

        Select MDI Mode on the Operator Panel

        Press “E-Stop” push button

        Press function key "SYSTEM" on the MDI panel

        Press chapter selection soft key [PARAM]

        Enter "20" on the key pad of the MDI Panel

        Press chapter selection soft key [NO. SRH]

        Verify that “20” is set to 4. (Record the customer value for 20 _________)

        If not then enter “4” for CNC Parameter 20, and then press chapter selection soft key [INPUT].

        Device is now set for Memory Card.

Loading the CNC PARAMETER FILE.

NOTE: If this is the initial start up of control, load the “Macro Executor” first. Then the CNC Parameter File.

1) If the CNC Parameter file is reloaded, then you will be required to reset all the “Axis Zero Positions”, verify   that you have the setup procedure information for the Axis Zero Setup before you continue. (Note: If the machine is operational at this point, then return all axis to there zero position before reloading the CNC Parameter file to allow for easy setup of axis zero after file loading).

2) Verify the proper input device is selected. (Memory Card only)

3) Turn off “Memory Protect” Key on the Operator Panel.

4) Turn on the Control and set "Parameter Write Enable" parameter to ONE.

        Press function key for "OFFSET SETTING" on the keypad of the MDI panel.

        Press soft key [SETING] for chapter selection, on the Display screen.

        Enter "1" (Enable) in response to the prompt for parameter write (PWE).

           Alarm P/S 100 "PARAMETER WRITE ENABLE" appears.

5) Push the “E-Stop” push button on the operator panel.

6) Insert the Memory Card into the Memory Card Slot located on the left side of the LCD Display Panel.

7) To load the CNC Parameter File, the file name is "CNCPARAM.DAT".

8) Press function key for "System".

9) Press chapter selection soft key [PARAM].

10) Press soft key [OPRT].

11) Press the rightmost soft key [→] (next-menu key).

12) Press soft key [READ]

(The correct file is selected automatically from the Memory Card).

13) Press soft key [EXEC].

The parameters are read into Memory. Upon completion of input, the "input" indicator at the lower-right corner of the screen disappears.

        Alarm will display, for power off the control then restart.

14) Verify that CNC Parameter 9000 = 00011011

        Select MDI Mode on the Operator Panel

        Press function key "SYSTEM" on the MDI panel

        Press chapter selection soft key [PARAM]

        Enter "9000" on the key pad of the MDI Panel

        Press chapter selection soft key [NO. SRH]

        CNC Parameter 9000 = 00011011

15) If this is the only file to load, remove the Memory Card before turning the power off.

16) After the control is restarted, the Axis Zero Positions will need to be reset. Follow the procedure for each axis.
