(A)The Da Vinci Code is a 2006 American mystery thriller film directed by Ron Howard and written by Akiva Goldman, adapted from Dan Brown's 2003best-selling novel of the same name. The film stars Tom Hanks, Audrey Tattoo, Ian McKellar, Alfred Molina, Jorgen Preshow, Jean Reno, and Paul Bethany.

In the film, Robert Langdon, a professor of religious iconography and zymology from Harvard University, is the prime suspect in the grisly and unusual murder of Louvre curator Jacques Sauntered. He escapes with the assistance of a police cryptologist, Sophie Never, and they are embroiled in a quest for the legendary Holy Grail. He is pursued by a dogged French police captain, Beau Face. A noted British Grail historian, Sir Leigh Teaming, tells them the actual Holy Grail is explicitly encoded in Leonardo ad Vinci's wall painting, the Last Supper. Also searching for the Grail is a secret cabal within Opus Dei, an actual prelature of the Holy See, who wishes to keep the true Grail a secret; the revelation of this secret would certainly destroy Christianity.

(B)The Lord of the Rings is an epic high-fantasy novel written by English author J. R. R. Tolkien. The story began as a sequel to Tolkien's 1937 fantasy novel The Hobbit, but eventually developed into a much larger work. Written in stages between 1937 and 1949, The Lord of the Rings is the best-selling novel ever written, with over 150 million copies sold.

The title of the novel refers to the story's main antagonist, the Dark Lord Saur on who had in an earlier age created the One Ring to rule the other Rings of Power as the ultimate weapon in his campaign to conquer and rule all of Middle-earth. From quiet beginnings in the Shire, a hobbit land not unlike the English countryside, the story ranges across Middle-earth, following the course of the War of the Ring through the eyes of its characters, the hobbits Frodo Baggins, Sam wise "Sam" Game, Mercado "Merry" Brandy buck and Peregrine "Pippin" Took, but also the hobbits' chief allies and travelling companions: the Men Aragorn son of Marathon, a Ranger of the North, and Boomer, a Captain of Gondar; Gimlet son of Groin, a Dwarf warrior; Ligulas Greenleaf, an Elvin prince; and Gandalf, a Wizard.
