WRITING GUIDE FOR ENGLISH II

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:

Expresar ideas y situaciones de la vida real de manera escrita, siendo estas acertadas y eficaces, mediante la aplicación de los contenidos vistos en el curso.

OBJECTIVES:

Utilizar la gramática y vocabulario adecuadamente de acuerdo a los contenidos del curso.

Escribir un texto, donde pueda expresar ideas y situaciones reales de la vida diaria.

Estimular el proceso de escritura como proceso organizado y sistemático.

TOPICS:

Reconocimiento de la unidad 2.

Grammar Adverbs of frequency, modal of possibility, Superlatives adjectives, Comparative adjectives, Likes and dislikes.

Vocabulary Giving advices, Recreational activities, Food, prices.

Learning strategy: Aprendizaje basado en tareas, en el grupo colaborativo se debe construir un texto donde los estudiantes van a dar cuenta de lo aprendido hasta el momento en el contenido en línea y demás prácticas para el estudiante. Este texto contará con el acompañamiento del e-mediador.

A través de este ejercicio, el e–estudiante hará el reconocimiento y apropiación de los contenidos de las unidades, de su entorno y del contexto para expresarse de acuerdo a su nivel.

Read the guide and rubrics carefully and follow instructions:

1. Introduce yourself (Name, age, address, phone number and occupation)

2. In the collaborative group, choose one of the following topics. Choose only one topic.

a. The dishes of my region.

b. Traveling around Colombia.

c. The World Cup

3. After choosing the topic, develop the activity.

Steps for the writing Assignment

Read carefully the following steps to construct and consolidate your writing.

1. The dishes of my region

If you choose this topic in your writing you have to imagine that all of you have a TV program about how to prepare typical food. You have to write the script for the program, so each one of you is going to:

1. Pick a typical food of your region.

2. Teach how to prepare it. For that you will need:

a. Ingredients

b. Process to prepare the receipt.

c. Photos

3. When all of you have your part ready, you have to put it in one single word document and upload it as the final activity.

Grammar to have in mind:

 Adverbs of possibility.

 Adjectives.

 Likes and dislikes.

Note: you have to underline each of the grammar topics, like:

 Adverbs of possibility – underline with Blue color

 Adjectives – underline with Green color

 Likes and dislikes – underline with Yellow color

2. Traveling around Colombia.

If you choose this topic in your writing you have to imagine that off all of you have a travel agency and you are designing the new brochure for your company, so you have to choose five cities of places in Colombia to travel. Have in mind:

a. Choose a place in Colombia to visit.

b. Design the information for the brochure with:

i. Weather

ii. Typical food.

iii. Places to visit.

iv. Activities to do there.

v. Prices.

vi. Photos.

When all of you have your part ready, you have to put it in one single word document and upload it as the final activity.

Grammar to have in mind:

 Adverbs of possibility.

 Adjectives.

 Likes and dislikes.

If you choose this topic in your writing you have to imagine that off all of you have to write a chronic about the finals in the world cup 2014. So you have to write about the final 4 teams that pass in the world cup. Have in mind:

i. Name.

ii. Matches that play during the whole world cup.

iii. Goals.

iv. Wining, and lost games.

v. Final
