Este tiempo verbal, cumple las mismas características del presente continuo (estudiado la semana pasada). Sin embargo, se refiere a acciones en el pasado; por lo tanto, la marca del pasado se da en el verbo TO BE.
En la siguiente imagen se resume la estructura

+La estructura de la oración negativa e interrogativa es la misma que la del presente continuo.
+Debes estar atento a la forma en pasado del verbo TO BE
