ABSTRAC.

If it is true that the world has moved proportionally more in the last fifty years than in all of history, the fact remains that inequality among nations is one of the characteristics that best define the contemporary world.

This phenomenon results, especially in the large differences between people in access to basic goods and services, and is a consequence of the economic processes, with different results, we have experienced in recent decades.

Recent research seems to show that the main factors involved in the current conflict have to do with economic difficulties, problems of access to land in rural, religion and political instability.

These factors and differences are those that generate poverty.

Poverty is defined as that condition characterized by lack of resources, means or opportunity for the satisfaction of minimum human needs, both material and cultural type.

According to the definition, the poor can not feed, clothe or educate either. Also do not receive adequate medical care or access to jobs, while emotional and spiritual life tends to be reduced.

Although many definitions as there are approaches to make poverty, the majority focuses on the lack of economic resources.

Poverty is hunger. Poverty is lack of shelter roof over. Poverty is being sick and not being able to be seen by a doctor. Poverty is not being able to go to school and can not read. Poverty is not having a job, being afraid of the future and live day to day. Poverty is losing a child to illness brought about by unclean water.

Poverty is powerlessness, lack of representation and freedom.
