Zeus[pic 1]

In Greek mythology, Zeus is a deity sometimes referred to as the "father of gods and men," who rules the Olympian gods like a father to a family, so that even those who His natural children were not addressed to him as such.

After the battle with the Titans, Zeus divided the world with his older brothers, Poseidon and Hades, drawing lots: Zeus got the sky and the air, Poseidon the waters and Hades the world of the dead (the underworld).

In some versions, Metis gave Crono an emetic to force him to vomit the babies, and in others Zeus opened Crono's stomach. Shortly after ascending the throne as king of the gods, Zeus had to fight with other sons of Gaea, the monsters Typhon and Echidna.

  • Zeus became the ruler of heaven and earth after a revolt against his father, Cronos.
  • Zeus had to mediate when the other immortals were angry with each other.
  • He is the father of Athena, who is said to have emerged from her head.
  • Hades and Poseidon were his brothers.

She is the protective goddess of marriage. She was the mother of Ares, god of war, Hephaestus, god of fire, Hebe, goddess of youth, and Eleitia, goddess of childbirth. Mythology presents her as a jealous wife who persecutes the mortal women whom Zeus used to bond with or the children he had with them.

Hera witnessed several infidelities of Zeus, provoked a lot of anger in her, so she was vindictive with the lovers and children as a result of the infidelities.

He was capable of blessing or cursing marriages and people, as well as protecting the health of women. It is also said that it could control animals and procreate on its own.

Being the wife of Zeus, Hera was the highest ranking goddess on Olympus. Queen of heaven and patroness of marriage, with the pomegranate and the apple as symbols of her sacred fruits, which long ago symbolized the marriage union. Like all the gods of Olympus, Hera had her shadows.

Poseidon[pic 3]

Poseidon was the Greek god of the seas, oceans, and earthquakes, thus being one of the most respected and feared deities by the people of Ancient Greece. In some cities like Athens he was one of the most important gods, while in others like Corinth he was the supreme god.

His function was to extend his kingdom over the oceans and his symbol is the trident, which is equivalent to the rays of Zeus in the sky and means control over the seas.

Poseidon took part in the distribution of the areas of influence of the gods on the universe, corresponding to him the government of the marine and subterranean waters.

Poseidon and Amphitrite had three sons Triton, Rodo and Cimopolia. Like Zeus, Poseidon also had numerous children with various other goddesses and mortal women, such as Theseus and Bellerophon.

Apollo[pic 4]

In Greek and Roman mythology Apollo is one of the most important and multifaceted Olympian gods. Apollo has been variously recognized as the god of light and the sun; truth and prophecy; archery; medicine and healing; music, poetry and the arts.
