History:

With all and the collective psychosis of the world crisis, fear and no money; but a lot of good vibes, love and the conviction that the best remedy there is to relief the misery is laughter… emerges “Remedios Mágicos”, being the perfect example that laughter is capable of making unexpected things happen.

Remedios Mágicos is born shining and as if it wasn’t enough , as the legit and original candies of power; the exact dose of taste with good humor to transmit the messages through clever products with a lot of identity, design, color, taste, and all the folklore  of the Mexican people.

That’s how we emerge on December the 18th, 2008 in Mexico City created by Guadalupe Gómez, the graphic communication designer, who really wanted to praise the rich popular culture, urban, folklore and traditions of our loved Mexico, she bets to create a new business concept where the design, creativity, humor, and quality are the base of her proposal, considering the favorable environment of la Colonia Condesa to raise awareness and send good vibes and magic to every single person who visits us.

In Remedios Magicos we are restless, we like to renew constantly and get imagination going, that’s why we are always looking for new challenges and products with DESIGN and production 100% Mexican. For this reason in 2011 we grew and expanded our product line, and with this be the “Legitimos y originales artilugios del poder”.

Concept:

What the heck is Remedios Mágicos?

We’re not going to lie to you, not even we know how to explain to you what Remedios Mágicos is. We may seem to you one thing or another and you’ll be right. The only thing we have clear is that we have fun doing what we do and we do it because we believe that “REIR ES MAGIA” (laughter is magic), and it is the best remedy to make life easier.

As you can see we are a lot of different things and hard to classify and there are still other two tons to come. We make a lot of clever and cool gadgets with a lot if Mexican identity, to transmit messages full of good humor, that help us to spread laughter and spoil the soul, to stop taking everything so serious, because in the end we will not make it our alive.

We are open to any ideas we get, or you get. We like to add and multiply that’s why we also invite known and artists and new talents to create and have fun with us. This is the way we capture the ideas we come up with, with a design and a production that are 100% Mexican in our singular products.

Mission and vision:

Mission:

To spread laughter and fill the world in body, soul and mind with good vibes, through our fun products which have a lot of Mexican identity and design, to create value and praise the popular and urban culture with all the magic and spice from the Mexican town.

Vision:

Offering the world a product mix with a great design and quality that help us create an especial style to communicate between our followers and friends; a different way to interpret reality and laugh about with it, to satisfy the wishes and needs of everyone.

Guiding principles:

  • Design, creativity, and wit: we offer playful products with a Mexican design. Very creative to transmit the messages through the good humor and wit of the Mexican culture.
  • Humor, and fun: we are sure that the best way to transmit messages is through humor. Having fun and laughing is a universal need and we want to be participative in the fulfilling of it, through our products and sales points.
  • Empathy and magic: we all have and are capable to create magic in every aspect of our lives. Empathy generates magic connecting everyone of us in unique ways.
  • Optimism and good vibes: the shortcut to happiness. We need to develop the capacity to see the positive side of things and let the go of the bad moments such as failures to live them and assimilate them as experiences that let us grow. The good vibes can be felt and spread out.
  • Quality, made in Mexico: We want the phrase “made in Mexico” to be a synonym of quality, because what we do, we do it good.
  • Culture, identity and pride: offer products with identity to the national market and for the Mexican market to exalt the cultural richness of the Mexican town. Supporting the national pride, proactive and always moving forward.
  • Crafts and services: Elaborate all our products with the same attention and dedication as an artisan. Sought to give jobs and offer products elaborated in a crafty and empathic way. We enjoy what we do and to make people laugh through our excellent service.

  • Remedio Lata: little boxes filled with mints, 39 different designs.
  • Remedios mi Alegría: it’s a product line, includes the Kit Atrayente.
  • Kits Serie Zodiaco: they have candy and a description of your zodiac.
  • Kit Mexico en la Piel: includes 3 special editions of the Remedio Lata.
  • Tarro de Botica: 7 different designs.
  • Botiquin Buena Vibra: box you can fill with 3 different Remedios Lata.
  • Libretas: 3 types, Recicladas, Bolsillo and Chirris
  • Separadores de libros: 6 different designs.
  • Amuletos: 4 types, Calentura, Tornillo y Tuerca, Espanta Pendejo and San Antonio.
  • Llaveros: 6 different designs.
  • Identificador para vasos: you can buy 20 or 15.
  • Viniles: 1 design, to put it on your toilet seat.
  • Posters: new product, 10 different designs.
  • Cofre de los Tesoritos: a box for jewelry.
  • Frasco con Popote: has candy inside.
  • Caja Decorativa Reir es Magia: includes a soap and a Frasco con Popote.
  • Vaso Termico: 2 different designs.

Target Market:

Potential customers:

  • Tourists (mostly).
  • Wedding planers.
  • Bachelorette parties.
  • People looking for gifts (Christmas, birthday, anniversary, etc.).
  • Teens.
  • Adults.

Target Audience:

  • Anyone (mainly tourists) who is middle class with at least the primary education level  between the ages of 16 and 50 who is looking for something to give away (weddings, parties, gifts, etc.), or for themselves (souvenirs, just because) who can afford our products and wants something unique that has a lot of Mexican essence. They need to be open-minded, and have a good sense of humor, people who doesn’t think all magic is black magic (because or religion or any believes).
  • Face to face interaction is very important, audience most likely give more importance to price. Since our store is very unique we must generate loyalty so our “fans” spread out the word and keep coming. The store is located downtown and there is only one employee which means that a good service from our employees is very important if we want our customers to keep coming back.

Value Proposition

Remedios Mágicos provides different products based on the mexican rascality and that makes them a the gratest twaddle gift you can give to anyone you care about.

Its products also benefits their customers by giving them a new role to gifting stuff, to details and pranks.
